Hi all,
This Is based on a document covering the release of MQ IPT V 2.1.0.1.
There was a mention of an "immediate" HTTPS proxy required between two MQ IPT devices should the https protocol wrapper option be utilised.
As I'm not entirely sure what a proxy is could someone explain what it is? And why it's required?
Thanks
Damian Costa

Hi Damian,

I haven’t found the exact document you are referring to, but I would imagine that it is a typographical error, and the word should be ‘intermediate’.

That is, when you are using HTTPS between 2 instances of MQIPT, an HTTPS proxy between them is required.

In fact, the manual says that when you use https, you must have a proxy in place…

QUOTE from page 30 of the manual downloaded with the support pack…
——
If you need two MQIPT nodes to communicate with each other over HTTPS, you
must route all communication between the two MQIPT nodes through an
intermediate proxy server.
