Hi All,

This is probably a very basic question. Not sure if you had seen this
earlier or already know the fix.

We are trying to run the qload on zLinux 2.6.32-358.0.1.el6.s390x 64Bit OS
and have issues loading the messages from the file back into the queue.

*Using QLOAD V1.6 (zLinux 64)*

[***@myServer zLinux]$ /var/mqm/scripts/qload -m MYQMGR -i TEST1 -f
test1messages
QLOAD Program by Paul Clarke [ V1.6 Build:Jul 16 2008 ]
Read - Files: 0 Messages: 3 Bytes: 12
Written - Files: 1 Messages: 3 Bytes: 12

[***@myServer zLinux]$ /var/mqm/scripts/qload -m MYQMGR -o TEST2 -f
test1messages
QLOAD Program by Paul Clarke [ V1.6 Build:Jul 16 2008 ]
*MQPUT(TEST2) failed RC(2026) MQMD error.*
Read - Files: 1 Messages: 1 Bytes: 6
Written - Files: 0 Messages: 0 Bytes: 0

As you can see the above qload attempt to put the messages back into the
queue failed. This program works on all linux systems except this one.

Snapshot of the messages is below

As you can see the 1.9 version of qload distribution does not contain the
qload utility for 64 bit OS.

Is this been your experience as well. Or its just me having issues.

Well, I’m afraid something very odd is happening. Your downloaded messages are misaligned for some reason. If you look at the values of the MQMD attributes you see they are all wrong. In fact, they look offset by some amount.

VER = should probably be 2
MST = looks like it has EXP value
FDB = looks like it has ENC value
ENC = looks like it has CCS value

However, it seems to fix itself when it gets to FMT.

I’m afraid I have no idea what is going on. Is this the latest version of QLOAD available for z/OS ? Are we sure that the program is compatibly with the OS ?

I’d like to help you but I’m afraid I’ve been told by IBM not to work on QLOAD any more and that users of QLOAD should contact IBM for help. I’m not sure exactly who but I would have thought Mark Taylor would be a good starting point.

Regards,
Paul.

A few observations in case it is helpful.

For these two fields:

A CCS 1297175380
A FMT MQSTR

1297175380 = x'4D515354' = MQST (which are the first 4 characters of the next field in ASCII)

For these 2 fields:

A PER 1095586080
A MSI 414D5120504944495A3032332020202052DC9E3820001A12

1095586080 = x'414D5120' (which are the first 4 bytes in the next field in ASCII)

Thanks,
Tim
